Eligibility
- Proficiency in the local language of the state you apply to is an essential qualification for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I — not a preference. Studying that language up to Class VIII or above counts as proof.
- If you clear selection without the language qualification, you get six months from joining to acquire it.
- 28 Regional Rural Banks participate, one per state or union territory, each with its own language requirement.
- Educational qualifications must be complete and the result declared on or before 21 September 2026.
- Officer Scale II and III require a minimum 50% aggregate in the degree; Office Assistant and Scale I do not specify a percentage.
- Fractions of a percentage are ignored — the notice states 59.99% is treated as less than 60%.
- Vacancies are described as indicative; provisional allotment happens against the actual vacancies the RRBs report later.
- Category cannot be changed after registration and the edit window closes, so choose carefully at the start.
How to Apply
- Open ibps.in and pick the correct link — Office Assistant and Officer Scale I/II/III have separate application forms.
- Register online between 1 and 21 September 2026. The same window covers fee payment.
- Choose your state carefully: it determines which RRB you are considered for, and which local language you must be proficient in.
- Enter your graduation percentage to two decimal places. If your university awards CGPA, convert it and keep the conversion certificate.
- Pay ₹850, or ₹175 if you fall in an exempt category. Bank transaction charges are extra and are yours to pay.
- Use the edit window, which opens for two days after registration closes, to fix anything — but note that some fields can never be edited.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need to know the local language?
Yes, for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I it is an essential qualification. Having studied that language at Class VIII level or above in a recognised board counts as proof. If you are selected without it, you get six months from joining to acquire proficiency.
How many vacancies are there in total?
The updated annexure of 9 September 2026 lists 8,222 Office Assistant and 4,256 Officer Scale I posts, plus 661 in Scale II General Banking and 182 in Scale II IT. Further Scale II specialisms and Scale III are listed state-wise in the same annexure. All figures are indicative and IBPS may revise them.
Can I apply for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale I?
They are separate applications with separate links on the IBPS site, so you would apply and pay for each one you want.
My university gives CGPA, not percentage. What do I enter?
Convert it using your university's own criteria and enter the percentage to two decimals. Keep documentary proof of the conversion rule — you will need it at document verification.
