ISRO is recruiting 174 Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science under Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:03(EMC):2026, and the window shuts at 11:55 PM on 16 September 2026. Two bars do most of the filtering. The degree must carry an aggregate of at least 65% or CGPA 6.84/10 — there is no relaxation of that figure anywhere in the advertisement. And the age limit is 28 years reckoned on the closing date itself, which is tighter than most central recruitment. Of the ₹750 you pay, ₹500 comes back — but only if you actually sit the written test, so the bank details you type in matter as much as the form.

Eligibility

• The posts are Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’, Group ‘A’ Gazetted, in Level 10 of the pay matrix at constituent ISRO centres, and Group ‘A’ Non-Gazetted in Level 10 at the autonomous body PRL under the Department of Space. Selected candidates are paid a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100 per month, plus Dearness Allowance and other allowances.
• The qualifying degree is BE, B.Tech or an equivalent in the relevant branch, with an aggregate of at least 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 on 10.
• The advertisement states that the responsibility to meet the eligibility criteria rests with the applicant, and asks candidates to read the full advertisement and the FAQ before applying.
• Vacancies marked with an asterisk in the advertisement are backlog vacancies.
• The number of vacancies is tentative; any addition or reduction is notified on www.isro.gov.in by a corrigendum.
• Selection is a written test or CBT followed by an interview for those screened in.
• The written test is held at thirty-seven venues, among them Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kavaratti, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
• ICRB reserves the right to cancel or change a test venue and re-allot candidates to another centre.
• Paper pattern — Part A is discipline-specific, 80 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes; Part B carries 20 marks in 30 minutes.
• Marking is +1 for a correct answer, 0 for an unattempted question and minus one-third for a wrong answer.
• Unreserved candidates need 50% in the written test and 60% aggregate; PwBD candidates have their own qualifying marks where posts are reserved.
• The final panel gives 50% weightage to the written test marks and 50% to the interview marks.
• Hall tickets and call letters for the written test and the interview are sent only by e-mail to the registered address, so the e-mail ID given in the application must be one you monitor.
• A candidate employed under a government or public body must apply with intimation to and prior permission of the employer, and produce a No Objection Certificate in original at the interview. Without it the candidate is not permitted to appear, travelling allowance is not paid, and there is no claim to further participation.
• A candidate who gains or changes employment after applying must inform ICRB and submit the NOC at the interview.
• PwBD candidates must produce an attested Disability Certificate in the prescribed format at the interview, stating the percentage of disability and issued by a Medical Board of at least three members, one of whom is a specialist in the relevant field.
• Applications not in conformity with the advertisement, and incomplete applications, are not entertained.
• ISRO warns candidates not to take cognizance of fake offers of appointment for jobs in ISRO.

How to Apply

1. Read the bilingual advertisement and the FAQ on isro.gov.in before starting — both are linked from the ICRB recruitment page.
2. Apply online through the ICRB recruitment portal, which is open from 27 August 2026 to 16 September 2026 until 11:55 PM.
3. Pay the ₹750 processing fee through the Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway; the payment link appears when you submit the online application. All service charges are borne by the applicant.
4. Complete the fee payment by 16 September 2026 — the same deadline as the application.
5. Enter your bank name, branch, account holder name, account number and IFSC correctly. The refund goes to these details, and ISRO will not be held responsible for a failed refund caused by a wrong entry.
6. Give an e-mail address you check regularly; hall tickets and interview call letters are sent only by e-mail.
7. If you are already in government employment, apply only with your employer's intimation and prior permission, and carry the No Objection Certificate in original to the interview.
8. Sit the written test — the refund is paid only to candidates who appear for it, and not in any other circumstance.
