Eligibility
- All posts are Group C, in ministries, departments and offices of the Government of India and in constitutional bodies, statutory bodies and tribunals.
- For LDC, JSA and most DEO posts, a Class 12 pass from a recognised Board or University is enough.
- DEO and DEO Grade 'A' posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, in the SSC itself and in the Ministry of Culture need Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics.
- Candidates who have appeared in Class 12 may apply, but must hold the qualification on or before the cut-off date of 7 October 2026.
- Approximately 2,536 vacancies are tentative. Final post-wise and category-wise numbers are published later under Candidate's Corner on the SSC site.
- The Commission does not collect state-wise or zone-wise vacancy data — for that, approach the user department directly.
- Post allotment is made on merit-cum-preference, and once a post is allotted it is not changed.
How to Apply
- Complete One-Time Registration on ssc.gov.in. An OTR from the old ssc.nic.in site does not work and must be created again.
- Log in and open the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2026 form, on the website or through the mySSC mobile app.
- Prefer Aadhaar-based authentication — applications submitted that way are protected from rejection over photograph and signature formatting.
- The form captures a live photograph through your camera. No cap, mask or spectacles, full frontal view, plain background.
- Upload your signature as a JPEG or JPG of 10–20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high.
- Pay the ₹100 fee unless exempt. Without payment the form stays 'Incomplete' and is summarily rejected.
- Preview before submitting and keep a copy — the Commission advises retaining it for at least three years.
