National Testing Agency (NTA) · Post Date:

Applications open — last date 13/09/2026

Short Information

NTA has released the provisional answer keys for the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination held on 9 and 10 September in English, Commerce and Sociology. Candidates who disagree with a key can challenge it online until 11:59 PM on 13 September 2026, at ₹200 per question. The fee is refunded in full for every challenge the subject experts accept, and an accepted challenge is applied to every candidate in that subject — so there is no need for several people to raise the same one.

Eligibility

  • Applies to the three subjects re-examined: English, Commerce and Sociology.
  • The re-examination was conducted in pursuance of the NTA public notice dated 16 August 2026.
  • Challenges are accepted online only. Submissions by email, fax, letter or any other mode are not accepted, and neither is a challenge without the fee.
  • If the experts accept a challenge, the correction is applied uniformly to every candidate in that subject — you do not need to raise a challenge someone else has already raised.
  • Individual decisions on each challenge are not communicated. The revised final key is published before the results instead.
  • The answer key finalised after the challenge process is treated as final. No grievance is entertained after the window closes or after the result is declared.

How to Apply

  1. Log in to the UGC-NET candidate portal with your application number and password or date of birth.
  2. Open your recorded responses alongside the provisional answer key for your subject.
  3. Note the question IDs where you believe the key is wrong, and gather supporting evidence before you start.
  4. Select those questions in the challenge module and pay ₹200 for each one.
  5. Complete the payment before 11:59 PM on 13 September — a challenge without a completed payment is not considered.
  6. Save the confirmation. There is no separate reply; you find out through the revised final key.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which subjects does this re-exam answer key cover?

Three: English, Commerce and Sociology. The re-examination for these subjects was held on 9 and 10 September 2026.

Do I get the ₹200 back?

Yes, in full, for every challenge the subject experts accept. You do not get it back for challenges that are rejected.

Several of us spotted the same wrong key. Should we all challenge it?

No need. The notice states that an accepted challenge is applied uniformly to all candidates of that subject, so one successful challenge benefits everyone.

Will NTA tell me whether my challenge was accepted?

Not individually. The revised final answer key is published on the official website before the results are declared, and that is where you see the outcome.
