BPSC has invited online applications for the fourth phase of the Bihar School Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0), Advertisement No. 14/2026, for 32,388 teacher posts across primary (classes 1-5), middle (6-8), secondary (9-10) and higher secondary (11-12) schools under the Bihar Education Department. Only candidates who have already qualified the relevant Teacher Eligibility Test — CTET/BTET Paper-I or II for classes 1-8, STET Paper-I for classes 9-10, and STET Paper-II for classes 11-12 — may apply; the admit card for BPSC's own exam will not be issued to anyone who has not cleared the applicable TET/STET first. Eligibility

  • Indian citizen.
  • Must already hold a valid, level-appropriate Teacher Eligibility Test qualification: CTET Paper-I / BTET Paper-I for classes 1-5; CTET Paper-II / BTET Paper-II for classes 6-8; STET Paper-I for classes 9-10 and Special School Teacher; STET Paper-II for classes 11-12.
  • Candidates appearing in Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET, 2026), which BPSC is conducting alongside this recruitment, may also apply, but must qualify STET 2026 before the TRE-4.0 preliminary exam admit card can be issued to them.
  • Teachers appointed and working before 2012 who have cleared the departmental proficiency test are exempt from the TET requirement.
  • Level-wise educational and training qualification as prescribed by NCTE (or RCI for special education posts) — see vacancy table above.
  • One-Time Registration (OTR) on the BPSC Online portal is mandatory before applying to any BPSC exam.

How to Apply

  1. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) at bpsconline.bihar.gov.in if not already registered.
  2. Log in at the candidate dashboard, link/create a DigiLocker account for document upload (or proceed without DigiLocker via the browser back option).
  3. Fill the six-step online profile: Personal, Address, Other, Qualification, and remaining application steps, selecting only one subject/level for which you hold the qualifying TET/STET result.
  4. Pay the examination fee (₹100, plus ₹200 biometric fee if Aadhaar is not furnished) online between 01/09/2026 and 29/09/2026.
  5. Submit the completed application by 30/09/2026. No provision exists to correct name, parents' name, gender, Aadhaar number or date of birth after OTR submission.
  6. Do not send a physical/hard copy of the application or documents to the Commission's office; only the online submission is considered.
