The 22nd CTET, first notified for 6 September 2026, will now be held on 12 and 13 December 2026, CBSE announced on 14 September. The delay came from a second application window CBSE opened from 25 August to 1 September after a Supreme Court judgment on teachers needing a TET. Don't expect your centre details early: your exam city and date slip comes 15 days before the exam, and the admit card with the centre address only two days before.

Eligibility
- This notice covers every candidate registered for the 22nd edition of CTET, whether they applied in the May–June window or the reopened August–September window.
- CBSE had originally notified the exam for Sunday 6 September 2026, with 5 September as a possible extra day.
- On 25 August 2026 CBSE reopened applications from 25 August to 1 September, citing the Supreme Court's judgment in Review Petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025 on giving teachers a reasonable chance to acquire the required TET qualification. It said the revised exam date would follow once the portal closed.
- The revised dates are 12 and 13 December 2026. Which of the two days you sit on will be shown on your own intimation slip.
- Candidates who had already submitted their application in the first window did not need to apply again.
How to Apply
- No fresh application is needed — the notice only fixes the exam dates.
- Check the CTET portal about 15 days before 12 December 2026 for the slip showing your allotted exam city and exam date.
- Download the admit card, which carries the exam centre address, from the CTET portal two days before your exam date.
- Exam cities are allotted by CBSE at random and requests to change them are not accepted, as stated in the original CTET notice.
