SBI Specialist Cadre Officer 2026 — 207 Wealth Management Posts, Apply by 25 September

State Bank of India, Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Mumbai · Post Date:

Applications open — last date 25/09/2026

Short Information

State Bank of India is engaging 207 Specialist Cadre Officers for its wealth management business under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/23, with registration and fee payment closing on 25 September 2026. Every one of these is a contract appointment, not a regular bank officer post, and the age bands are wide but post-specific — AVP Wealth takes candidates from 23, while Zonal Head and Regional Head start at 35. Two rules decide whether your application survives: teaching and training experience is not counted towards eligibility at all, and you must upload every document — resume, ID proof, age proof, caste certificate, qualifications, experience details and biodata — or the application is not considered for shortlisting.

Eligibility

  • These are Specialist Cadre Officer posts engaged on a contract basis, not regular bank officer appointments.
  • Registration is complete only when the fee is deposited with the Bank online on or before the last date.
  • Teaching and training experience is not counted towards eligibility for any of these posts.
  • A candidate may apply for more than one post, provided the eligibility criteria for each are met.
  • Every relevant document must be uploaded with the application — resume, ID proof, age proof, caste certificate, PwBD certificate where applicable, educational qualification certificates, experience details and biodata. Without them the application is not considered for shortlisting or interview.
  • Shortlisting is provisional and done without verifying original documents; verification happens when a shortlisted candidate reports for interview.
  • A candidate called for interview who does not satisfy the eligibility criteria is neither allowed to appear nor reimbursed any travelling expenses.
  • Meeting the minimum qualification and experience does not by itself entitle a candidate to an interview. A shortlisting committee decides the parameters, and the Bank's decision on whom to call is final.
  • The interview carries 100 marks, and the Bank decides the qualifying marks.
  • Where two candidates share the cut-off marks in the final merit list, they are ranked by age in descending order.
  • For five of the posts — Relationship Manager (Team Lead), Investment Specialist, Investment Officer, VP Wealth and AVP Wealth — candidates choose three different circles in the online application. Repeating a circle leaves the decision to the Bank, no change of circle preference is entertained at any stage, and a candidate who does not get a chosen circle may be considered for others.
  • The vacancies are indicative and the Bank may transfer officers engaged on contract to any SBI office in India, or depute them to associates, subsidiaries or another organisation.
  • EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further Government of India directives and the outcome of any litigation.
  • Candidates with an adverse report on character, antecedents or moral turpitude are not eligible, and such a report found after selection leads to rejection of the candidature or service.
  • At the interview a candidate must disclose any pending criminal case, and the Bank may verify police records independently and deny appointment on that basis.
  • Furnishing false information or suppressing facts leads to disqualification, debarment and possible legal or criminal action.
  • Candidates serving in government or quasi-government offices, public sector undertakings including nationalised banks and financial institutions, and SBI Group companies must submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the interview, failing which the candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses are not paid.
  • Call letters and advices are sent by e-mail only — no hard copy is sent — and every revision or corrigendum is hosted only on the Bank's website.
  • A hard copy of the application and documents need not be sent to the recruitment office.
  • Any legal proceeding arising from this advertisement can be instituted only in Mumbai, where courts, tribunals and forums have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.

How to Apply

  1. Read the full advertisement on sbi.bank.in under Careers and Current Openings before starting — eligibility and experience differ by post.
  2. Register online through the link on the Bank's website and pay the fee by internet banking, debit card or credit card.
  3. Upload every document the advertisement lists, including resume, ID proof, age proof, caste certificate, qualification certificates, experience details and biodata. A missing document means your application is not shortlisted.
  4. If you are applying for Relationship Manager, Investment Specialist, Investment Officer, VP Wealth or AVP Wealth, choose three different circles — do not repeat a circle, and note that the choice cannot be changed later.
  5. Complete registration and fee payment by 25 September 2026. Registration is not complete until the fee is deposited.
  6. Avoid submitting multiple applications for the same post — only the last completed one is kept and the other fees are forfeited.
  7. Keep the e-mail address in your application active; call letters and advices are sent by e-mail only.
  8. If you are already in government, PSU, nationalised bank or SBI Group service, arrange a No Objection Certificate to produce at the interview.
  9. Check sbi.bank.in regularly — shortlisting and selection lists, and every corrigendum, appear only there.

207 in all — 91 VP Wealth, 73 AVP Wealth, 24 Relationship Manager-Team Lead, 9 Investment Specialist, 5 Regional Head, 4 Investment Officer and 1 Zonal Head (Retail).

Is this a regular SBI officer job?

No. Every post in this advertisement is a Specialist Cadre Officer engagement on a contract basis.

What is the age limit?

It varies by post, all reckoned as on 31 August 2026 — AVP Wealth 23 to 35, VP Wealth 26 to 42, Investment Officer 28 to 40, Relationship Manager and Investment Specialist 28 to 42, and Zonal Head and Regional Head 35 to 50.

Most posts go to centres within the circle you opt for, and you choose three circles in the application. Bengaluru and New Delhi carry the largest numbers. The Bank can still transfer contract officers to any SBI office in India.

How is the selection made?

Shortlisting on parameters the Bank's committee decides, followed by an interview carrying 100 marks. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
