Eligibility
- Category-wise, the 67 posts are GEN 37, SC 13, ST 0, OBC 11 and EWS 6. Vacancies may go up or down.
- Post codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 13 and 15 need a bachelor's degree from a recognised university established by law in India. Post codes 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 16 carry special qualifications — check section 5 of the advertisement.
- All essential qualifications must be held by 29 September 2026.
- Vertical and horizontal reservation is only for domiciles of Uttarakhand. SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ex-servicemen, Divyang, freedom-fighter dependants, orphans, state agitators, outstanding sportspersons and women who are not Uttarakhand domiciles can apply only as unreserved.
- EWS certificates must be based on income for financial year 2025–26 and valid for 2026–27; a certificate issued before 1 April 2026 is not accepted.
- Post codes 1–6, 8–10, 12 and 14–16 are gazetted and permanent; post codes 11 and 13 are gazetted and temporary; post code 7 is non-gazetted and permanent.
- The Deputy SP, District Commandant Home Guards and Block Development Officer posts are exempted from disability reservation.
- Selection is by an objective preliminary exam (two papers), a written main exam and an interview.
- Prelims is a screening test only and its marks are not added to the final merit. Paper II (General Aptitude) is qualifying, and every category must score at least 33 per cent in it. Merit for the mains shortlist is based on Paper I (General Studies).
- Negative marking applies in the preliminary exam, and calculators are not allowed in prelims or mains.
- The main exam will be held at centres in Haldwani and Haridwar.
- No 25 per cent additional waiting list will be prepared for these posts.
How to Apply
- Download Advertisement A-1/E-1/2026-27 from psc.uk.gov.in and read it fully, including the appendices on exam scheme, syllabus and certificate formats.
- Apply online on the Commission's website by 11:59:59 PM on 29 September 2026.
- Fill category and sub-category details carefully. Reservation is granted only if you claim it in the online form and hold the certificate by the last date.
- Pay the fee by net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI by 29 September 2026. An application without the full fee is automatically rejected.
- Corrections can be made once, between 7 and 16 October 2026. After that no change is accepted.
- Keep a printout of the submitted form. Admit cards will only be issued online, not by post.
