CSIR NGRI Technician 2026 — 21 Posts for ITI Holders, Apply Online by 4 October

Short Information

CSIR-NGRI at Hyderabad is filling 21 Technician-1 (Group II) posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026, across nine trades from Fitter and Electrician to Computer/IT Assistant, Digital Photographer and Physiotherapy Technician. The entry bar is Class 10 with Science and at least 55% marks, plus an ITI certificate in the trade — or two years of relevant experience in place of the ITI. Applications close at 6:00 PM on 4 October 2026. Two details are worth settling before you submit: women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen pay no fee at all, and the Hindi-or-English medium you pick in the form is final, with no change allowed at the trade test.

Eligibility

• CSIR-NGRI is a premier R&D institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science and Technology.
• All 21 posts are Technician-1, Group II, in Level 2 of the 7th CPC pay matrix, ₹19,900 to ₹63,200.
• Gross monthly emoluments are approximately ₹39,970 at the minimum of the pay level, including House Rent Allowance in a Class 'X' city.
• Overall reservation across the 21 posts is UR 15, SC 3, ST 1 and EWS 2. Within the 15 UR posts, one is reserved for PwBD-OH (orthopaedically handicapped), one for PwBD-HH (hard of hearing) and two for ex-servicemen.
• The essential qualification for each trade is Class 10 or SSC or equivalent with Science subjects and at least 55% marks, together with an ITI certificate or a National or State trade certificate in the relevant trade — or, alternatively, the same Class 10 with Science and 55% plus two years of relevant experience.
• Meeting the minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to be called for the trade test or written examination. A duly constituted screening committee adopts its own shortlisting criteria.
• Candidates should therefore list in the application every qualification and experience above the minimum, supported by documents.
• Screening is done on the basis of the documents and information provided in the application.
• Candidates must indicate whether they will take the trade test or competitive written examination in Hindi or English. The choice made in the online form is final and cannot be changed. A candidate who indicates nothing is deemed to have opted for English.
• No travelling allowance or dearness allowance is reimbursed for attending the trade test, written examination or document verification.
• Any discrepancy between the information in the application and the original documents affects the candidature.
• Selected candidates are posted at CSIR-NGRI, but can be transferred to any CSIR laboratory or institute.
• Appointment is subject to being found medically fit against the standards prescribed by the Government for each post filled by direct recruitment through trade test or written test.
• PwBD candidates pay no application fee, and must produce a valid disability certificate — without it they are not considered for PwBD reservation or relaxation. They must also state their caste or community, whether SC, ST, OBC-NCL, General or EWS, in the application.
• The date of the trade test or competitive written examination, and any other update, is displayed on the NGRI website.

How to Apply

1. Read the full advertisement on ngri.res.in — the trade-wise qualification and job requirement differ post by post.
2. Apply online only. The window opened at 10:00 AM on 5 September 2026 and closes at 6:00 PM on 4 October 2026.
3. If you are General, OBC or EWS, pay ₹500 through SBI Collect in favour of "Director, CSIR-NGRI", using the link in the advertisement. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen pay nothing but must upload the supporting document.
4. Upload the printed SBI Collect e-receipt or transaction reference for the fee along with the application, and every other document the advertisement lists.
5. Choose your examination medium — Hindi or English — carefully. It is final, no change is entertained, and leaving it blank means English.
6. List all qualifications and experience above the minimum with supporting documents; the screening committee shortlists on what you provide.
7. Watch ngri.res.in for the trade test or written examination date and for any further update.
8. Budget for your own travel — no TA or DA is paid for the trade test, examination or document verification.
