GMRC Recruitment 2026 — Apply for 48 Civil Posts from Engineer to Chief General Manager

Short Information

GMRC has opened a recruitment for 48 civil engineering posts on its Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar Metro Project, spanning ten grades from Surveyor and Draftsman up to Chief General Manager. This is not an entry-level drive — every post asks for years of post-qualification executive experience, and candidates can apply on a contract, deputation, or post-superannuation basis, each carrying its own age ceiling and pay band. Serving government, PSU, Railway, or Metro employees apply on deputation with their parent department's NOC; private-sector applicants are judged on minimum CTC. GMRC also says it will prefer candidates who have worked in Gujarat for at least three years and are conversant with Gujarati.

Eligibility

• Common education requirement across all posts: a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a Government-recognised university or institute (Draftsman and Surveyor accept a 3-year Civil Engineering diploma instead).
• Relevant experience is in construction of viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings, workshop sheds, or underground metro structures such as stations and TBM tunnelling; the required years of experience rise with seniority, as listed against each post.
• Serving employees of Indian Railways, a Metro Rail organisation, or a State/Central Government PSU or Board may apply on deputation under their parent organisation's terms, submitting the NOC on or before the date of interview.
• Candidates may alternatively apply on a post-superannuation contract basis, subject to the age ceiling and experience criteria fixed for that route for each post.
• Age and experience are reckoned as on 19 September 2026; age limits differ by post and by the basis of application (contract, deputation, or post-superannuation) and are given in the official notice.
• GMRC states a preference for candidates who have worked in Gujarat for at least 3 years and are conversant with the Gujarati language.

How to Apply

1. Apply only online through the Careers section at www.gujaratmetrorail.com — no other mode of application is accepted.
2. Register with your name, mobile number and email ID; a passcode is sent to the registered email for login.
3. Fill in the online application with your work history from latest to earliest and complete the form.
4. Upload your latest CTC breakup along with other required documents; applications without a CTC breakup will not be considered, and Form-16 is used to verify it.
5. Deputation applicants must also arrange their parent department's NOC before the date of interview.
6. Submit before the last date of 3 October 2026. Selection is by interview, and shortlisted candidates will be intimated through registered email.
