SSC JE 2026 Addendum — Scientific Assistant (IMD) Qualification Widened, Apply by 22 September
Staff Selection Commission (SSC), New Delhi · Post Date:
Applications open — last date 22/09/2026
Short Information
SSC has issued an addendum to the Junior Engineer Examination 2026 notice of 2 September 2026, rewriting the essential qualification for the Scientific Assistant post in the India Meteorological Department. A B.Sc. with Physics still qualifies, but the Commission has now added a second route — a bachelor degree in computer science, computer applications, electronics, electronics and communication, electronics and telecommunication, instrumentation, information technology, telecommunication or communication engineering. That second route carries a condition candidates miss: it only counts if you also passed Class XII with Physics and Mathematics. Everything else in the JE 2026 notice is unchanged, and applications still close on 22 September 2026.
