UPSSSC has advertised 134 Junior Engineer posts under the Directorate of Agriculture through Advertisement No. 19-Exam/2026. The diploma has to be the right one: a three-year diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or a government-recognised equivalent approved by AICTE — a general mechanical or civil diploma does not qualify. Applications open on 17 September and close on 7 October, and only PET-2025 candidates are eligible, with shortlisting on the normalised PET score. Pay is Level-6, the highest of the three UPSSSC mains advertisements open right now.

Eligibility

• All 134 posts fall under the Directorate of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh, and are advertised as both permanent and temporary.
• Pay is Level-6, scale ₹9,300 to ₹34,800 with grade pay ₹4,200.
• Essential qualification, under Rule 8 of Part 4 of the UP Agriculture Department Junior Engineer Service Rules 2015: a pass in the High School examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh, or a recognised equivalent; and a three-year diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent recognised by the Government and approved by AICTE.
• On the question of equivalent qualifications, the advertisement attaches letter number Prashi/Parishad/2024/7972 dated 26 October 2024 from the Secretary, Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, as Annexure-1 for candidates' information.
• Preference in direct recruitment, all else being equal, goes to a candidate who has served at least two years in the Territorial Army or holds a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
• Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 and hold a PET-2025 score card issued by the Commission may apply.
• Shortlisting for the mains examination is on merit of the normalised PET-2025 score.
• A candidate whose absolute or normalised PET-2025 score is zero, below zero or negative will not be shortlisted for the mains examination.
• Candidates marked Under Investigation (UI) or Provisional in the PET 2025 result may apply provisionally, subject to the Commission's final decision in their case.
• Horizontal reservation: 2 posts for dependants of freedom fighters, 6 for ex-servicemen, 26 for women and 2 for outstanding sportspersons. Divyangjan reservation is 2 for hard of hearing (HH) and 3 across OA, OL, LC, Dw and AAV sub-categories.
• For UP women candidates, only a caste certificate issued from the father's side is accepted.
• EWS candidates must have family income from all sources below ₹8 lakh in the financial year preceding the year of application, and hold a certificate in the State Government's prescribed format.
• Selection is on the written examination alone, with negative marking at 25 per cent — a quarter of the mark carried by the question — for every wrong answer.
• The syllabus covers farm power engineering and non-conventional energy sources, IC engines, tractors, biogas technology, wind and solar energy technology, post-harvest technology and agro-waste industries, and agro-based industries, alongside a computer and information technology section.
• The number of advertised vacancies, and the category-wise split, may be revised up or down.

How to Apply

1. Open upsssc.gov.in and find Advertisement No. 19-Exam/2026 under the Live Advertisement segment; download and read it, including Annexure-1 on equivalent qualifications, before applying.
2. Applications open on 17 September 2026 and are accepted only online. Register, apply and pay by 7 October 2026 — no application or fee is accepted after that date.
3. Pay the ₹25 online process fee. The form submits automatically once the fee is successfully paid and reconciled by the bank.
4. If the fee status shows Pending, use Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification Mode under the Applicant Segment on the UPSSSC homepage.
5. Get the fee reconciled by 7 October 2026, or within seven days of it at the latest — that is, by 14 October 2026. Until reconciliation is done the application printout is not available.
6. Download and print the submitted application form and keep it; the Commission can ask for a copy at document scrutiny.
7. Corrections to permitted details can be made up to 14 October 2026, through Applicant's Dashboard and Modify Application, using your PET-2025 registration number and an OTP.
8. If shortlisted for the mains, pay the separate mains examination fee before trying to download the mains admit card.
