MPESB Group-3 Sub Engineer, Draughtsman & Lab Technician 2026 (II) — Applications Close 12 September

Short Information

The second Group-3 combined recruitment test of 2026 covers Sub Engineer, Draughtsman, Laboratory Technician and equivalent Class III posts across Madhya Pradesh departments, corporations and boards that fall outside the state Public Service Commission's purview. Applications close on 12 September 2026. One feature of a combined test surprises first-time applicants: the fee is charged per paper, and the vacancy count is not fixed in the rulebook — departments send their requisitions to the board, and the selection list is drawn against whatever posts are available at that time.

Eligibility

• The test covers Group-3 posts — Sub Engineer, Draughtsman, Laboratory Technician and equivalent Class III posts — in state departments, corporations, boards, commissions, autonomous bodies, societies and cooperative banks outside the Public Service Commission's purview.
• Qualification: the postgraduate diploma or diploma in the subject required under the requisitioning department's own recruitment rules, or a higher qualification. The board applies whatever minimum the department has specified.
• The candidate must hold that qualification on the date the application is submitted, and the requisitioning department must have stated it in the requisition sent to the board.
• Age is reckoned as on 1 January 2026 — the 1 January of the current recruitment year. Minimum 18 years, maximum 40 years.
• The upper age limit is 45 years for SC, ST and OBC candidates, for women, and for serving government employees in departments, corporations, boards, commissions, autonomous bodies and the Home Guard.
• Candidates must mark a preference for the posts applied for. If a candidate qualifies and is recommended by the board but does not meet the appointment criteria, the candidature is rejected and is transferable to another post — the rulebook places that responsibility entirely on the candidate, not on the board.
• The advertised vacancy position is not fixed in the rulebook. The selection list is prepared against the total posts available on the basis of information received from the departments at that time.
• Aadhaar registration is compulsory and multi-level biometric verification is carried out at entry and during the examination, so the Aadhaar must be unlocked.
• An original photo identity document — voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar, driving licence or passport — is mandatory at the centre. An e-Aadhaar is accepted only if verified through UIDAI.

How to Apply

1. Apply online through the MPOnline portal. The window opened on 29 August 2026 and closes on 12 September 2026.
2. Examination fee for direct and contract recruitment posts: Rs. 500 per paper for unreserved candidates, Rs. 250 per paper for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and disabled candidates who are original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
3. There is no fee at all for backlog direct-recruitment posts.
4. MPOnline portal charge is Rs. 60 through a kiosk and Rs. 20 when you log in as a registered citizen user and fill the form yourself.
5. Corrections can be made until 17 September 2026, five days after the form closes. Nothing can be changed after that.
6. Set your post preferences carefully — an unmet appointment criterion after recommendation is treated as your responsibility.
