MP In-Service Teachers Eligibility Test (Patrata Pariksha) 2026 — Apply Online by 18 September
Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal · Post Date:
Applications open — last date 18/09/2026
Short Information
MPESB is conducting an Eligibility Test 2026 for serving primary and secondary teachers in Madhya Pradesh who have not yet cleared the Teacher Eligibility Test, as directed by the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal 1385/2025 and 1386/2025 (order dated 1 September 2025), which gives in-service teachers three years — by 31 August 2028 — to qualify TET or face compulsory retirement. This is not a fresh recruitment: it is open only to already-serving government-school teachers (and non-government primary teachers who have not cleared TET), and clearing it confers no eligibility for direct appointment. MPESB has extended the application closing date from 4 September to 18 September 2026, so the window closes tomorrow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a fresh graduate or private candidate apply for this exam?
No. This Eligibility Test 2026 is open only to teachers already serving in Madhya Pradesh government schools (and non-government primary teachers) who have not yet cleared the TET, as ordered by the Supreme Court. It is not a recruitment exam for new candidates.
What happens if a serving teacher does not clear this test?
Per the Supreme Court's order, in-service teachers with more than 5 years of service left must qualify TET within the extended timeline of 3 years (by 31 August 2028) to continue in service, failing which they may face compulsory retirement with terminal benefits. Teachers with less than 5 years of service left may continue till superannuation without qualifying TET, but cannot be considered for promotion without it.

₹1,000 per shift for all categories, plus an MP Online portal fee of ₹60 (kiosk) or ₹20 (registered citizen login).
