MP Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2026 — 7,500 Posts, Apply 22 September to 6 October

Short Information

Madhya Pradesh has opened its largest constable intake in years: 7,500 Constable (General Duty) posts, split into 700 in the Special Armed Force and 6,800 outside it. Two things in this notice decide who can realistically apply. The educational bar differs by category — Higher Secondary or 10th under the 10+2 system for most candidates, but only 8th pass for Scheduled Tribe candidates. And candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh may apply only against unreserved Open posts, with no reservation and no age relaxation of any kind.

Eligibility

• Education for unreserved, Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Class candidates: 10th class under the 10+2 system, or Higher Secondary, or an equivalent examination passed from a recognised board or institution.
• Education for Scheduled Tribe candidates: 8th class or an equivalent examination passed. This is the single biggest relaxation in the notice.
• Age as on 06/10/2026: minimum 18 years, and maximum 33 years for unreserved male candidates of Madhya Pradesh. The board's relaxation table applies to other categories.
• Candidates who are not permanent residents (domicile) of Madhya Pradesh may apply only against unreserved Open posts. They get no reservation and no age relaxation, and their upper age limit is 33 years as on 06/10/2026.
• Live registration with a Madhya Pradesh state employment exchange is compulsory for all these posts.
• Under standing government orders, a candidate with more than two living children, one of whom was born on or after 26 January 2001, is not eligible for appointment. A single child followed by a multiple birth of two or more does not disqualify.
• Physical standards, Special Armed Force: male height 168 cm for unreserved and OBC candidates, 157 cm for Gorkha, Garhwali and Kumaoni candidates, 165 cm for Maratha, SC and ST candidates; chest 79 cm unexpanded and 84 cm expanded.
• Physical standards, other cadres: male 168 cm with chest 81/86 cm; female 155 cm with no chest measurement; Scheduled Tribe male 160 cm with chest 76/81 cm; Scheduled Tribe female 155 cm.
• Wherever a chest measurement applies, an expansion of at least 5 cm is mandatory. The notice states plainly that no relaxation is given in physical standards at any level.
• Aadhaar registration is compulsory, and multi-level biometric verification is carried out both at entry and during the examination, so the Aadhaar must be unlocked.
• Candidates from eight listed priority categories — including holders of an NCC 'C' certificate — receive 5 per cent additional marks in the written examination.
• Persons with disabilities are exempt from the Police Department under the Home Department circular of 04.04.1995.
• Pay scale is Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000. Under the General Administration Department circular of 12 December 2019, a stipend of 70 per cent of the minimum is paid in the first year, 80 per cent in the second and 90 per cent in the third.

How to Apply

1. Applications are filed online through the MPOnline portal from 22 September 2026. The window closes on 6 October 2026.
2. Board examination fee: Rs. 500 for unreserved candidates, Rs. 250 for SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates who are original residents of Madhya Pradesh.
3. A separate departmental examination fee of Rs. 200 (Rs. 100 for SC, ST and OBC) is collected by the board and transferred to the Police Department.
4. MPOnline portal charge is Rs. 60 when the form is filled through a kiosk, and Rs. 20 when you log in as a registered citizen user and fill it yourself.
5. Use the correction window between 22 September and 11 October if anything needs fixing. Nothing can be changed after 11 October.
6. Keep your application number safe — the admit card can only be downloaded against it, and the board places that responsibility squarely on the candidate.
7. Carry one original photo identity document to the exam: voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar, driving licence or passport. An e-Aadhaar is accepted only if verified through UIDAI.
8. Every certificate you intend to claim a benefit from must be in hand by 06/10/2026, and originals are checked at the physical test stage.
