UPPSC Inspector of Drugs 2025 — Applications Reopen for 26 Posts (Advt. D-6/E-1/2025)

Short Information

UPPSC has reopened online applications for Inspector of Drugs (Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, UP), Advt. No. D-6/E-1/2025 — but only for candidates who did not apply earlier because the original essential qualification shut them out. Following a Supreme Court order and a revised state-government qualification order, the degree requirement now reads Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a university established in India by law. If you already applied against the original December 2025 advertisement, you do not need to apply again — this window is only for newly-eligible candidates, and every other condition of the original advertisement stays unchanged.

Eligibility

• Advt. No. D-6/E-1/2025, dated 22 December 2025, Department No. S-06/04 — Inspector of Drugs, Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, Uttar Pradesh, 26 posts. Online applications originally closed 22 January 2026.
• In compliance with the Supreme Court's order of 10 April 2026 in Special Leave Petition (Civil) No. 3168/2026 — Deepak Kumar and others vs. State of UP and others — the state's Food Safety and Drug Administration Section-1 revised the mandatory essential qualification by its letter No. 1/1369148/2026/88-107/2/2025, dated 18 June 2026.
• The revised qualification: 'Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a University established in India by law.'
• To collect applications from candidates eligible under this revised qualification, UPPSC has reopened online applications against the same Advt. No. D-6/E-1/2025.
• Only candidates who hold the revised essential qualification as on the original closing date, 22 January 2026, may apply in this reopened window.
• Candidates who already applied against the original advertisement do not need to apply again.
• All other terms and conditions of the original advertisement remain unchanged.
• A screening exam for these 26 posts is proposed for 16 December 2026: two objective parts for a combined 450 marks in 2 hours — Part I General Studies/General Knowledge (50 questions, 150 marks) and Part II Pharmacy subject knowledge (100 questions, 300 marks) — with 1/3rd (0.33) mark deducted per wrong answer, and interview marks of 50 for candidates who clear it.

How to Apply

1. Candidates newly eligible under the revised qualification can apply online from 21 September 2026 at uppsc.up.nic.in.
2. One Time Registration (OTR) on the UPPSC portal is required before applying, if not already registered.
3. Complete the online application, pay the fee and submit it by 21 October 2026.
4. Corrections to the submitted application and fee reconciliation are allowed until 28 October 2026.
5. Do not reapply if you already submitted an application against the original December 2025 advertisement — it remains valid.
