HP TET November 2026 — Apply Online by 3 October for JBT, TGT and Special Educator

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala · Post Date:

Applications open — last date 08/10/2026

Short Information

HPBOSE has opened applications for the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test of November 2026, covering JBT, TGT in Arts, Medical, Non-Medical, Hindi and Sanskrit, Punjabi, Urdu and both Special Educator papers. Applications run from 11 September to 3 October 2026, with a ₹600 late fee buying five more days to 8 October. Check the exam timetable before you pay for a second subject: several papers share a sitting. TGT Non-Medical and Special Educator for Classes VI to XII are both on the morning of 29 November, TGT Sanskrit and Special Educator for Pre-Primary to Class V both that afternoon, and TGT Medical, Punjabi and Urdu all on the morning of 6 December. Each subject needs its own application and its own fee, so a clash costs you money as well as a paper.

  • Each paper carries 150 questions of one mark each and runs for 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Qualifying mark is 60 per cent — 90 out of 150 — for Unreserved candidates.
  • A relaxation of up to 5 per cent applies to SC, ST, OBC and PHH candidates, whose qualifying mark is 55 per cent — 82 out of 150.
  • The HP TET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime for the purpose of appointment.
  • There is no upper age limit to apply for the TET. Age criteria are considered by the appointing authority at the recruitment stage.
  • A candidate may submit only one application form for the same subject; multiple applications for one subject are liable to be rejected.
  • Applying for more than one subject means a separate online application and a separate fee for each.
  • Candidates must satisfy themselves about eligibility before applying, and remain personally responsible if candidature is cancelled for ineligibility at any stage — even after passing the TET.
  • Name, father's name, mother's name and date of birth must be entered exactly as they appear on the Class X certificate of the Secondary Education Board.
  • A candidate whose fee has not reached the Board will not be considered for the examination, whatever the application shows.
  • Applications sent by fax or post are not entertained, and the Board takes no responsibility for informing such candidates.
  • At the centre, entry requires the admit card together with an Aadhaar card or another photo ID; the invigilator matches the photograph on the admit card against the candidate.

  5. Upload a scanned signature in jpg, under 15 KB, sized 3.5 cm by 1.5 cm.
  6. Pay the fee through the online payment gateway only. Cross-check every particular before the final payment.

  9. If something needs fixing, use the correction window from 9 to 12 October 2026 — it covers every field except Category and Sub-Category.
