United India Insurance is recruiting 225 Administrative Officers in Scale I — 200 Generalists and 25 Hindi Officers — with online registration closing on 28 September 2026. The cut that catches most applicants is the marks bar: a graduate or post-graduate degree with at least 60% (55% for SC, ST and PwBD), and the notice says a fraction is ignored, so 59.99% counts as below 60%. You may apply for Generalists or Hindi Officers but not both, and a second application cancels your candidature. One more thing worth knowing before you move: the company states the vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern zones and that selected candidates are likely to be posted there.

• United India Insurance is a public sector general insurance company wholly owned by the Government of India, with more than 1,200 offices and service hubs across the country.
• Generalists: a graduate degree or post-graduate degree in any discipline — including but not limited to Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Data Science — from a recognised university, with a minimum of 60% marks, or 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
• Hindi Officers: the qualification requires Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level with 60% marks, or 55% for SC, ST and PwBD candidates, with an alternative route set out in the notification.
• The percentage is taken as the university awards it, and the fraction is ignored — the notice states expressly that 59.99% is treated as less than 60%.
• The qualifying examination must have been passed on or before 30 June 2026. A candidate who sat the final examination by that date but whose result was declared after it is not eligible.
• A candidate may apply and appear for either Generalists or Hindi Officers, not both. Multiple registrations or appearances cancel the candidature, and not more than one application should be submitted.
• Candidates currently serving as Administrative Officers (Scale I) in United India Insurance are not eligible; an application from such a candidate is liable to rejection at any stage.
• The vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern zones of the country, and selected candidates are likely to be posted mostly to offices in those zones for the initial period.
• Category-wise vacancies are provisional and indicative. The company reserves the right not to select any candidate from any category, and the numbers may vary or be interchanged at any stage.
• EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further directives of the Government of India and to the outcome of any litigation on EWS, with appointment provisional pending verification of the Income and Asset certificate.
• Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities is 4 per cent, under the RPwD Act 2016.
• Selection is by online tests — a Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination and a Descriptive Test — followed by an interview.
• Call letters are downloaded about seven days before each online examination.
• Examination dates may fall on weekdays or holidays, are tentative, and the company reserves the right to modify the schedule.
• A valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number must be kept active until the recruitment process ends; all official communication goes to the registered e-mail address.
• The company warns that unscrupulous elements are asking applicants to deposit money for interviews or appointment. Apart from the examination fee paid at the application stage, UIIC asks for no other amount, and candidates should ignore such communication and rely only on the official website.
• Using unfair means, impersonation, or misbehaviour in the examination or interview hall disqualifies a candidate at any stage.

How to Apply

1. Read the detailed advertisement on uiic.co.in, including Annexure-I on registration, fee payment and photograph and signature uploads, before starting.
2. Decide between Generalists and Hindi Officers first — you cannot apply for both, and a second application cancels your candidature.
3. Check your degree percentage against the bar carefully. 59.99% is treated as below 60%, and no rounding is allowed.
4. Apply online only, through the link on the UIIC recruitment page. No other mode of application is accepted.
5. Complete registration and pay the fee by 28 September 2026 — both deadlines fall on the same date.
6. Pay ₹1000 plus GST if you are in the general fee category, or ₹250 service charges plus GST if you are SC, ST, PwBD or a permanent UIIC employee. Nothing is refunded.
7. Keep your e-mail ID and mobile number active throughout; every official communication is sent to the registered e-mail.
8. Download the call letter about seven days before each online examination. Tier I is tentatively on 22 October and Tier II on 30 November 2026.
9. Apply well before the closing date — the company notes that a failed fee payment or an invalid upload means the application is not treated as valid.
